The contents of the current EU DSM copyright directive can confirm the legislative direction to be implemented in individual member states in the future. Therefore, it is expected that the process by which EU member states will adopt the contents of the directive in a national level will also have great implications for Korean Society. In particular, the concept and method of setting rights and obligations that are vaguely presented in the directive will be presented in the form of positivistic requirements and regulations in the future, which can be used as one of the guidelines for legislative judgment for Korean society. Nevertheless, what should be noted regarding the current DSM copyright directive is that, given the current level and situation of legal discourse, the limitations are evident in governing the issue of protection of news copyright with legislation. Copyright basically has the purpose of guaranteeing the rights of copyright holders, but this is because it has a characteristic that can hinder the free communication of information and data. Therefore, in the case of the DSM directive, an ambiguous concept with a lot of room for judgment is used. In conclusion, from the current trend, the protection of news copyright has emerged as an important issue in relation to the digital economy, but it can be confirmed that no specific legislative policy alternative has been established at any country. Therefore, even in Korean society, it is necessary to go beyond the analysis of overseas legislative trends and conduct an analysis to devise a desirable legislative and policy direction on its own. To this end, efforts should be made to make out the influence of the platform business from a more empirical and analytical perspective.
